April 12, 2018
I’m not sure why, but the past three months felt like a dead lull as far as events and happenings go. I suppose we can blame it on winter and the weather, but I’m sure ready for some cool things, aren’t you?
And then, the floodgates opened!
The first weekend in May ushers in spring proper as Duncan Manor (right outside of Bloomington’s city limits) hosts their Spring Open House (May 5 and 6). I’ll be one of the vendors, hawking my wares, but there will be plenty of other things going on – tours of Duncan Manor (an AMAZING house), music, food trucks, and more.
The first weekend in June will be my first venture into the Steampunk realm – Cogs and Corsets. What’s kind of neat is that there are a TON of horror/suspense writers from that time period (mid 1800’s to early 1900’s) – so, I feel that I’m “representing” our genre 🙂
I’ll be posting more about it in the Events section of the blog, so keep and eyeball peeled over there.
Then there’s Printers Row on June 9 and 10 (I’ll be there on the 9th). That’s always been a great experience. If you are in Chicago and like to read, you can’t go wrong spending time here.
And finally (so far!), I am co-organizing Normal’s First Writing Workshop through Books 2 Benefit. It will be a four week class (1 hour each Saturday, from June 30 – July 21) that touches on a different aspect of writing each week. Taught by 4 published authors from various backgrounds and experiences, participants will learn and take away information specific to that week’s topic. I’ll post more about this as the dates get closer.
I’ve also been alerted that my previous posts have NOT gone through to my followers. As of now, I will be posting in a different way.
PLEASE, BY ALL MEANS, VISIT THE BLOG AND SEE ALL THE MANY POSTS IN ALL THE FEATURES AND AUTHOR INTERVIEWS THAT HAVE BEEN POSTED BEFORE TODAY!
