You know, I’m kind of done with summer. The heat. The gnats. The spooders….(yeah, I know…, it’s spiders) For those of us working at a university, this is kind of the great divide. Most of our downtime is over, but things aren’t quite ready to ramp up toward the start of the fall semester. It’s a no man’s land of hurry up and wait.
During this waiting period, I’ve finished Buried. Yes! Novel number three is “in the can” so to speak. The beta readers have been tagged and are going through it (for better or for worse) now. While that happens, I tend to step away from the whole of the project and won’t even look at the manuscript until, say, October. This gives them time, plus, it will allow me to put fresh eyes on it.
My concern now is that Createspace is no longer “doing the technical work” in the creation process anymore. If ANYONE has worked with other companies, I’d love to hear from you. I am considering hiring someone to do the layout part/cover part, but I’m not committing to anything as of yet. More research needs to be done, but I’ve started trying to figure out the best way to go about this. Again, shoot me an email, comment on the page, anything…. I’d love to hear from you.
I know that Ingram Spark is supposed to be a comparable one, but again, they don’t do the heavy lifting (typesetting/cover design). I need that.
For now, there is a BRAND NEW INTERVIEW up in the Meet & Greet, plus some new posts in a few of the other sections. Do check them out!
And please, share this blog with your peeps! Let’s spread it around!
