Bloggy Update 11/21

One chapter to go!

Revision #3 is THISCLOSE to being done and I couldn’t be happier. As I mentioned in other bloggy updates, I really think Rage is going to lean a little closer to Track 9 as opposed to Badfish/Buried. It feels more serious in overall tone and deals with some harsh realities (for the characters). I like it. Sometimes, as an author, snippets of real emotions, memories, and issues bubble up and come out on the pages and through the words – whether it’s through dialogue or backstory. There’s nothing bad about this – on the contrary. It’s a writer’s way of working things out (or through) and sometimes, it can take a number of novels to even make a crack in the plaster.

So, after I finish, the plan is to set the manuscript aside for about two weeks. Then, come back hard with revision #4 – where I make those final “corrections” of wording, sentence structure, catching missed punctuation, etc. Assuming that goes smoothly, I should finish up sometime in January. Then, I’ll be asking a few beta readers to take an eyeball. If I had to guess a future time frame for when Rage will actually come out, I’d say sometime around July 2021. But, again, with everything as crazy as it is, who knows what’ll happen when!

Aside from Rage excitement, I have 60 work days left. Talk about senior-itis! The first thing I think of when I get up in the morning is “what number am I at”. LOL.

I JUST received a new Flip Side interview, so check back VERY SOON. I’ll be posting it in the next day or two. 🙂

As for what I’ve been watching? Well, we finished all the seasons of The Sinner (great series), and are two episodes into The Queen’s Gambit. It’s good – I really like period pieces of the 60s. Watched a movie call “The Vanished” – oh, my. Do not waste your time. The characters and dialogue were SO unreal (and not in a good way) and there were so many “strings of plotlines”, it was laughable. I think I gave it a 3 out of 10 and I was being kind!

So, there it is. Stock up on toilet paper. I hear it’s getting to “that point” again. And stay healthy.
