Bloggy Update 3/28/22

Posted by

It has begun!

Draft TWO of Sanctum (my new, upcoming novel which was started during NanoWriMo ’21). I’ve gone through the first six chapters so far and hope to hit the next one tomorrow. I don’t necessarily have a “time frame”…BUT, I suppose I would like to have the second draft finished by the end of May (if not a wee bit sooner). Once I do, I’ll “let it rest” for probably another month before heading back in again for Round 3.

I’m kind of excited about this first event coming up at the end of April (Spring Market at the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard). There are supposedly 150 – 200 vendors ALONE! This is what their FB page says:

We’re back at Mackinaw Valley Winery for our Spring Market! (33633 State Rt 9, Mackinaw, IL 61755)

This event is for handmade, vintage, boutique, original art & gourmet vendors.

Fri 4/29 4pm-8pm ($5 Early bird shopping tickets on sale soon!)

Sat 4/30 9am-4pm

150-200 Vendors

2000-5000 attendance

Live Music, Food Trucks, Wine tastings & more

As I mentioned before, I’ve never been to this, but it really sounds like there will be something for everyone. If you are so inclined, come on out for a festive time. For more info, hit up my Events section of the blog)

On other fronts, I finally joined a gym (after two years) and am so glad to be back. I’m there twice a week, busting out weights (well, if you can call what I lift ‘busting out’ – lol). Honestly and all joking aside, it feels great and as close to being back to normal as possible. And still doing my slow three miles three times a week. I won’t win any medals, but I’m consistent and sometimes that’s all you can ask for these days.

We haven’t seen too many movies as of late. Well, we did see Joe (1970) again. Wow – so powerful. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor. Really compelling on a number of levels. We also watched Deep Water (2022). It wasn’t bad…if you want to hate pretty much every lead actor/actress in the movie. LOL. REALLY!! I could NOT get past what kind of “game” they were playing with each other and ended up hating them both for the choices they made throughout (no spoilers). But, hey, give it a shot if you have some built up venom.

And one last thing – if you HAVE read any of my books, PLEASE take a moment to post a review on Amazon/Goodreads. It’s a HUGE deal and would mean a lot. Thanks.

  1. That Spring Market event sounds fabulous. I’m sure you’re going to have a blast.

Congrats on moving into draft two on your WIP. What a great feeling, I’m sure!

I just recently finished my WIP and have moved into edit mode. Onward for both of us! 🙂
