One more time, I’ll make this fairly brief. I feel like I owe my blog followers an update of sorts – what is happening in my world as far as writing and a bit of personal news.
I’m back from Texas and at this point, I don’t think I (or my other brother) will need to return for any reason. Our brother, Bob, has been laid to rest in National Cemetery near Dallas/Fort Worth, his house is ‘cleaned out’, and we are in the process of selling his property. All other things can be done through email, phone calls, and the like (which is where I’m currently at). So, while the business processes will continue for a while, the physical tasks that took me away from Illinois, Charlie, the kitties, and my normal routines are now over.
Obviously, Draft #7 of In a Corner, Darkly: Volume 3, were put on hold. I very much want to return to it since, after this draft is complete, I’ll send it to the person who formats it and helps me with the cover. But, as life would have it, I had a big (2 day) event (Shower of Crafts at the College of Dupage) this past weekend, and the next event, the Easter Market at the Orland Park Civic Center, is coming up this Saturday. (not to mention my birthday…March 27…is rapidly approaching).
So, in all honesty, I likely won’t get back to writing/editing until early April. Such is life.
As for what I’ve been watching? Bar Rescue and reruns of Law and Order: SVU in various hotel rooms throughout Texas. I’ll soon get back to posting about shows and movies, but today is not that day.
What I WILL mention is that Christopher Hawkins is the newest Meet & Greet author to join the blog – his interview was just posted- so, please, check that out. Also, I do have two events coming up. As stated above, the Easter Market will be on Saturday, March 29 from 9am to 3pm at the Orland Park Civic Center. The following weekend, on Sunday, April 6, will be the 5th Annual Spring Craft/Vendor Show from 10am to 4pm at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham, Illinois. For more details, check out the blog in the Events section.
Thanks for everyone’s kind words and patience as I chase my brain hither and yon with all that is happening. As we traverse 2025, I’m reminded of this:
“Originating from a Yiddish proverb “Der mentsh trakht un got lakht” which is roughly translated into English as “Man plans, God laughs.”

So sorry to hear about your brother, Sue. Let those kitties snuggle up with you – they possess amazing healing properties.

Thanks, Teri. I’m still in a whirlwind of chaos in my head.
