One last time, I’ll keep this relatively brief…
Draft #7 of my newest book, In a Corner, Darkly: Volume 3 is complete! I am waiting to hear back from the lady who will format it and help create the cover. Once she formats it, I’ll receive it and do another check to make sure there are no issues. I’m HOPING to hear back from her very soon as I am chomping at bits to get this one out into the world!!
I’ll also be working on a couple book reviews for Candace Nola and her website, Uncomfortably Dark. I don’t normally do book reviews for others – these reviews are books I have chosen to read for myself and are in the horror – horror adjacent genre. Here is an example: https://www.uncomfortablydark.com/post/12-09-2024-guest-review-sue-rovens. I imagine that you can find others on her site (OR in my About Me post on my main blog) if you are so inclined.
My next book event is Saturday, May 10 from 10am to 3pm at Tails of a Bookworm in Pekin, Illinois. There promises to be a number of authors, vendors, and groovy things. I did this last year and it was truly a hoot! I will be updating the Events section of the blog soon, so check it out! π
And finally…I am still in the throes of my brother’s passing, although time and understanding is beginning to take over. Still dealing with the business/estate end of things which is a HUGE reason why I am a bit slow to update/revise/read other blogs and respond. Please be patient. After spending hours on the phone trying to convince people that I am who I claim to be, the last thing I want to do is ‘more work’. BUT…normalcy is returning, just not all at once. If I may – please write a will, people. Regardless of your age or station in life, make one. Your survivors/family/heirs will thank you.
As for what we’ve been watching:
Black Mirror (Season 7) – good, heart-rendering episodes
The Pitt – amazing.
The Floor – fun and sort of annoying game show. I LOATHE when they show the contestants chatting with each other. STOP IT! It adds nothing to the show!
St. Denis – hilarious medical comedy
Handmaid’s Tale – Truth as art. Art as truth.
Okay, that’s a wrap. I have calls to make…again.
Sue
