About Me (and this blog) – Updated 2/13

Posted by

Welcome. Feel free to wander around the blog. You’ll find there’s quite a bit going on. For example:

  • I mostly write suspense with twists of psychological horror. I’ve written 2 novels that would be best classified under the realm of suspense/thriller (the third will be coming out in 2019) and two books of short horror stories. You can purchase ANY/ALL of my 4 books from this blog. (Go to the My Books section)

  • If you “follow me” you’ll get a Bloggy Update about once every ten days. I hate spam too, so rest assure that I won’t inundate your box with “ads” or anything else annoying.

  • There is also a “Review” area. You’ll find my personal reviews of movies, television shows, podcasts, and the occasional piece of music. Anything goes – from bad movies to the show “Shark Tank”.

  • I have dedicated a section of this blog to Author Interviews. As long as someone has published their work and it is out in the world for others to enjoy, learn from, or experience in some way, they are free to be a part of my Meet & Greet. I welcome ALL genres and all professional levels. Everyone deserves their 15 minutes.

About Me

I am an indie suspense writer with two novels currently out in the world. Badfish, my first novel, was published in 2015. Track 9 was published in 2017. I also have two books of short horror stories, In a Corner, Darkly: Volume 1 and Volume 2. All my books are available on Amazon, in both paperback and Kindle formats.

My third suspense novel, Buried, is almost ready. My hope is to have it available for the public sometime in the first half of 2019.

I wish I could say that I write full-time (for a living). Instead, to pay the bills, I work at Illinois State University as the Stacks Maintenance Manager in Milner Library. I’ve been with ISU for 27 1/2 years.

I have a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and Recreation (and a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication) from ISU. At one time, long ago, I held an EMT-B certification.

When I’m not writing, I’m either running, watching weird movies, lifting weights, practicing ASL, herding Noodle (our 6 1/2 year old black cat who currently weighs 19 pounds) and our almost 2-year-old kitten, Monkey, around the house, or hanging out with Charlie, my “partner in crime”.
