Welcome. Feel free to wander around the blog. You’ll find there’s quite a bit going on. For example:
I mostly write suspense with twists of psychological horror. I’ve written 3 novels that would be best classified under the realm of suspense/thriller and two books of short horror stories. You can purchase ANY/ALL of my 5 books from this blog. (Go to the My Books section on the front/main page)
If you “follow me” you’ll get a Bloggy Update about once every ten to fourteen days. I hate spam too, so rest assure that I won’t inundate your box with “ads” or anything else you may find annoying.
If you dig music, check out The Flip Side, a new section dedicated to all things music-related. And if art/artists are more your thing, hop on over to the Spotlight section.
I have dedicated a section of this blog to Author Interviews. As long as someone has published their work and it is out in the world for others to enjoy, learn from, or experience in some way, they are free to be a part of my Meet & Greet. I welcome ALL genres and all professional levels.
Sue Rovens (and friend in back)
I am an indie suspense writer with three novels currently out in the world. Badfish, is my first, Track 9 is my “middle child”, and Buried is the newest, having come out in April, 2019. I also have two books of short horror stories, In a Corner, Darkly: Volumes 1 & 2.
I wish I could say that I write full-time (for a living). Instead, to pay the bills, I work at Illinois State University as the Stacks Maintenance Manager in Milner Library. I’ve been with ISU for just over 28 years.
I have a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and Recreation (and a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication) from ISU. At one time, long ago, I held an EMT-B certification. I’ve worked briefly in radio, delivered pizza, sold vacuums over the phone, and cleaned hotel rooms. (thankfully, not all at once)
When I’m not writing, I’m either running, watching weird movies, lifting weights, doing endless amounts of laundry, snuggling on Noodle, our 7 year old black kitty who weighs 19.6 pounds, or tripping over our 2 1/2 year old kitty, Monkey.
The house sale fell through! Insert long, rambling, disgusted story about ungracious buyers who apparently weren’t ever truly “in the game”. Needless to say, our house is back on the market. Blech.
