Bloggy Update 5/12

Posted by

When you eat watermelon, does it make you feel like a hot air balloon, or is it just me? I think I’ve turned a weird corner in life, because I don’t remember this particular fruit causing me to feel like Violet / the big blueberry in the movie, Willy Wonka (the original, of course) before. I think I’m going to have to tread carefully in the future! LOL.

So, I’m on week 8 of the Illinois stay-in-place situation. As I’ve stated before, I’m all for safety and health, so I don’t mind. I’m fortunate to be in a situation where we (the folks at ISU) are still getting paid and are, for the most part, able to work from home. I know that not everyone has this option. We’ve been ordering food and tipping well, trying to do a small part for our local economy/stores. When we go out, we wear masks, but most of the time, we are staying in.

I’ve been working pretty hard on Rage (book #4). Ideally, I’d like to be finished with the round two revisions before I go back to work (in the building), but I’m not going to rush it. The way I do “round 2 revisions” is basically re-writing the entire story. Since I’m starting with the first draft (done through NanoWriMo last November), there’s so much that needs editing and rewriting. Names, dates, places, concepts…it’s all kind of thrown in together. There are good ideas and plotlines, but it’s probably the most comprehensive part of constructing the actual book and the story.

I’ll try to remember to post a little section of the manuscript in the next bloggy update, just to show folks a snapshot of “before and after”.

Okay – thanks for reading. And please, share the blog! There’s plenty for everyone.

  1. I love watermelon and totally lucked out getting a good one, my first of the season, this weekend. Can’t say it makes me feel like a hot air balloon, though, lol. Glad you’re making progress with Rage!
