Bloggy Update 10/9/21

Posted by

Wow! It’s been a bit since I’ve sent a bloggy update! Well, let me catch you up on the latest 🙂

I’ve got a “first time for me” event coming up on Saturday, October 23. It’s the Dark History and Horror Convention, from 11am to 8pm at the IHotel and Illinois Conference Center. There’s going to be a boatload of vendors, guests, speakers, and activities going on. As I mentioned, it’s a first for me, so I’m extra excited! I’ll have all 6 books, the Plump Toad press bags, and my new swag. So, if you are in the area, make it a point to check this out.

The very next weekend (Saturday, October 30) is the Wheaton Haunted Flea Market (from 3pm to Midnight. Yes, you read that right. Midnight.) This takes place at the DuPage County Fairgrounds and is the biggest event I’ve ever seen in my life! Seriously. Every building is FULL of vendors, the grounds themselves have tons of tables, there’s food, there’s costume contests – it’s a major deal. Two years ago, I was in the “celebrity tent” ( yeah, well, you know….lol), so I imagine I’ll be in the same place again.

I’m starting to gear up for Nano. I’ll be interviewing/chatting with someone who happens to have the same job as my main character, so I’m in the process of getting questions together. The concept and characters are really in the preliminary stage, so I don’t have much to share. BUT, if you are doing Nano this year, I’m under Hoganlives (with a purple Plump Toad in the avatar) – friend me! 🙂

Did I mention that we caught the groundhog that was making a home underneath our deck? We live trapped the fuzzy nugget and moved him/her to a wooded area in town. Isn’t that the most adorable face, though? 🙂

Also, I’m getting the FOUR kidney stones that are still making their OWN home in my left kidney blasted this coming week. So, there’s that. I’ll be out of commission for a couple days, but should be back in the game by next weekend. I’ve had a lithotripsy done once before, so the experience isn’t totally creepy. I’ll just be glad when they’re gone (although they have been behaving themselves and have quieted down).

Oh, one more thing! If you have a moment, swing over to Teri Polen’s blog! (https://teripolen.com/) She’s doing Bad Moon Rising all through the month of October! (spooky and fun interviews with 31 different authors who write thrillers/mysteries/suspense/horror/etc)

Thanks! Have a Very Groovy run up to Halloween!

    1. Thanks, Priscilla! Yes, I’ve got 4 (possibly 5) book events scheduled for ’21, which sort of makes up for last year. And tomorrow is the big “blasting” day! 🙂
