It’s happening…
NanoWriMo! The international event that gives anyone, anywhere the supported opportunity to write a book (or anything else for that matter) of 50,000 words in 30 days. I am knee deep in characters, plots, sub-plots, conflicts – all at a first draft pace, with, I can assure you, plenty of mistakes. But, that’s part of the fun.
I’m pantsing it (no pre-written plans), but I do have an overarching idea for where it’s going. I’m a little anxious because we’re taking a few days “off” for vacation this month, so I’ll lose writing days. What will happen if for some reason I don’t “make 50,000” by midnight on November 30th?
Nothing.
But it still weighs heavy on my mind – so, it’s all about the words! š
Wheaton Haunted Flea was CRAZY! Tons of people! Lots of fun! A visit from friends and relatives. Sold out of ALL the Toad Bags (had to order more for the upcoming Holiday Expo here in Bloomington which takes place on Saturday, November 13 from 9am to 2pm – more info in the Events section!) Did amazingly well on the book sales too! It’s so heartening because I’m practically invisible on Amazon. In person is where I do probably 90% of my sales. Thank you so much to those who purchased!! š
If you’re a new follower to the blog, please check out all the wonderful Meet & Greet (both current and archived) author interviews. It’s a terrific opportunity to discover a new author to read. And for those more music-minded, The Flip Side has some very groovy interviews as well. And let’s not forget about artists! They can be found under the Spotlight section. Good stuff! š
Okay, cutting this short. Got the booster shot (Team Moderna) last night at our local Osco and it’s giving me a run for the money to be sure. I’ve never appreciated acetaminophen more…
If you are doing Nano, keep it up! We can do it! š
Sue š
Good luck with your Nano project! I’m doing a smaller project, a “Ninnywrimo.”:-)

Nah, it’s not real. D Wallace Peach made it up. Cute though, eh?

That’s great! It SHOULD be a thing. Maybe 10,000 words instead of 50,000.

Sounds like you had some wonderful book events, Sue – congrats on the sales! I’m not doing NaNo this year – I’m nowhere ready to begin with the new project. In my opinion, November isn’t the optimal time to schedule it – because holidays. Sometime in the spring would work better for my schedule – but then, no one asked my opinion.

Teri – I would have asked!! š But, yes, I agree. This is a tough time to fit in doing all of life’s necessities PLUS try to write a book in 30 days.
