So close.
I just signed the contract with the lady who will be formatting the interior and creating the cover for Buried. It’s happening…
Technically, I have 9 chapters to “go through one final time” before I send everything to her, so in actuality, I’m about one week out from having the process begin, but I can see the finish line now.
I’m trying to figure out if I should purchase my own ISBN number and barcode or just use KDP. There are good points (and bad points) to both, but I’m leaning toward purchasing my own number. Normally, I just let CreateSpace run with it, but apparently, that keeps it out of bookstores and other distribution places.
Why can’t these things be easy?
Plus…
We are moving! I know! It’s crazy!
We’ll still be in the Bloomington-Normal area (since we work here!), but we are on the lookout for a new house. After 12.5 years… That is the longest I’ve ever lived in one house, including my childhood years. So, yeah, this is a BIG DEAL.
We have some definite requirements, so it might take a little while to find the right one. Once we do, THEN, we will be selling ours. (insert long, drawn out story as to why this timeline will work better for us)
Exciting times!
And keep an eyeball on the Events Section in the blog – lots of things coming up, beginning with my FIRST time at Barrington Area Public Library on Sunday, April 7 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. I doubt that Buried will be ready by then, but it IS coming…
Thanks!
Sue
AWESOME Sue! Looking forward to it. Thanks for the update and information regarding the barcode. I’ve done it both ways, but never realized the significance.

Thanks! Yeah, there’s a great page about ISBN’s that I’ll post on the blog soon. It’s very eye-opening for a number of reasons.
