Well, it’s been a month, hasn’t it?
But, for those keeping score at home, I’ve started Novel #6!! I know – finally, right? (lol) Currently, I’ve taken the month of April to do my own version of NaNoWriMo (which no longer officially exists as it once did). I’m writing 1,667 words per day (or thereabout) to reach 50,000 by the end of April (actually, I’m giving myself until May 2 because I actually started on April 3, but that’s here nor there) As of this writing, I’m at 43,348 words, so I’m in the ballpark. I believe I’ll make it, but like any first draft, it’s pretty horrible (lol). Once I finish, I’ll set it aside and probably pick it up again for Draft #2 in July (possibly August).
I’m also still in the process of changing over to SquareSpace. The person who is creating the new site is still ‘on the payroll’, so to speak. I’m hoping to have it go LIVE sometime this summer. Stay tuned!
Recently, I was at the Bishop Hill Author Fair. I hadn’t been there in a few years, so it was GREAT to see some “old” friends and make some new ones. Sold a bit, chatted a bit – overall, a very nice experience! If you find yourself in that area of Illinois, do yourself a solid and swing through the town.
Next event is fast approaching – the Spring Holiday Extravaganza on the Illinois State Fairgrounds (the Orr Building). It’s happening Sunday, May 3 from 9am to 4pm, and there will be a TON of vendors, food stations, and things for kids. I’m also told that there will be live performances from a variety of ‘entertainers’. Come by if you are in the area!
After May 3, my next event won’t be until August as we are gearing up for the biggest Garage Sale in the history of man. Seriously. I won’t list everything here (as most readers are probably not in the area), BUT, if you happen to be anywhere near Normal-Bloomington, Illinois on May 22 and May 23, make the sale a destination. I’ll be posting much more about the sale on my own FB page, so if we are Facebook friends (or if you want to be, send me a friend request), you’ll see what’s coming 🙂
As for what we’ve been watching? Not much in the way of movies. Too focused on getting things ready for the sale. But, on our normal rotation:
DTF – Mini Series on HBO Max
The Pitt – Season 2
Jeopardy
The Floor (yeah, I know, but it’s kind of fun)
1% Club (another fun thing to watch while eating dinner)
Okay, time to go back to Draft #1!! 🙂
