The first draft to the new novel is DONE! Just over 50,000 words and a complete mess! (lol) Exactly what a first draft should be. I’m actually pretty excited about it and have been thinking of various avenues I can take during draft #2 (which likely won’t happen until July or August). But, the important thing is that the draft exists now – and THAT is what we do as writers.
I’m sure I mentioned that I don’t have another scheduled event until the middle of August. That’s mainly due to our frighteningly huge garage sale that’s inching its way toward us (May 22and 23). Plus, if the world can hold itself together (for a variety of reasons), Charlie and I hope to scuttle off to England for a week sometime soon. I’ve never been there, but he had visited years ago and loved it. If we DO manage to make it over there (and we certainly ARE hoping), there will be record and tea shops in our future. 🙂
There’s been a number of scammy emails and messages that are inundating authors of all levels lately. I recently wrote an ALL BUSINESS article about such things, but it bears repeating. If you (or other writers you know) get an unsolicited email, letter, or other form of correspondence from a publishing house, a well-known author who “happened to come across your book”, or something similar, PLEASE know that it’s 99.999% a scam.
Honestly, we haven’t been watching much of anything in the way of movies or series. Right now, the garage sale is truly all encompassing (over 1,000 pieces of music alone – and Charlie is pricing and evaluating each one individually!) So, when we DO watch something, we’re just reverting to going through old episodes of ER (we’re currently on Season 9). It’s the best we can do! (lol)
What has nabbed YOUR attention this May?
**NOTE** – The NEW website will likely be up in either June or July! Keep an eyeball peeled!
