This is (almost) it, people! The transfer from this blog (referred to as the OLD blog) to the Squarespace one (referred to as the NEW blog) is happening in July. Starting on July 15th, the OLD blog will be frozen. What that means is that after that date, I will NOT be adding anything new to this site. No interviews, no bloggy updates, no event updates. This is in preparation to make the big shift.
The lady (Sandra) who is creating the new site which will live on Squarespace, will be transferring the necessary information. So, we decided on July 15th as a “freeze for all new info”. If you want to follow me during the latter half of July, I can be found on Facebook (under my name, Sue Rovens – it should be pretty obvious as my page is full of cute animals, book stuff, and the usual commentary). It will be there that I will post about the GOING LIVE date. If I can nab a link to what the NEW blog will be, I will certainly post it here, but by all means, if you are concerned that my blog and I will be lost to the internets, drop me a line at srovens@yahoo.com. I will always answer emails.
Aside from THAT bit of business, we traveled over to London to see a concert, meet up with some of Charlie’s friends, and hit as many record stores and tea shops as we could in mid-June.
Instead, we ended up with a thrice-delayed flight, losing a day of our vacation, and then, if things weren’t hinky enough, Charlie (and then I) ended up getting REALLY sick. An unholy combination of stomach flu/sinus infection/cold for both of us. Needless to say, the week vacation turned weird, ugly, and almost non-existent. I was able to scuttle out of our hotel on “errand runs”, but it was more like traipsing around London in a sweaty haze than fun sightseeing. If we count our first day and our last day, we DID manage to hit 3 record stores and 3 tea shops – but it wasn’t easy.
Anyhow, we made it back, found ourselves on antibiotics (needed), and are ready to deal with July.
July’s plans involve working on Draft #2 of my new novel (no title yet), working with Sandra on the new blog site, and poking around for a couple other events for later this year. The next event that I DO have lined up is in Bloomington, Illinois (right here!) for the Painted Wraith Fest on August 15th from 10am to 5pm. If you dig weird, spooky, groovy, and unique, this one is not to be missed.
We are also in Season 13 (out of 15) of ER. It’s basically all we are watching now (lol) – yes, we’re enjoying it but will be more than ready to move on to other things. I really want to see Obsession, Backrooms, and a handful of other new films.
