Yep, we just got back from a week in London.
The good: the architecture, the diversity, the guards on horseback, the tea shops, the record stores…
The bad: Charlie getting stomach flu on Day #2, the four times our flights were delayed, the connection we BARELY made by literally 90 seconds, and a host of other foibles and issues.
Truth be told, we now need a vacation from our vacation. On our last day, I ended up getting sick myself, a poignant exclamation mark to finalize what was already a difficult week for both of us. I won’t dwell on all the details here, but needless to say, we are now home and in various stage of recovery from our maladies.
One delightful bit of news to share – one of my short stories from my latest book, In a Corner, Darkly: Volume 3, was accepted (as a reprint) for an upcoming anthology! Look for more details in the next bloggy update. 🙂
I’ll also be getting in contact with the person who is creating the new blog on SquareSpace over the next week. Keep an eyeball peeled for more on that as well.
My plan is to delve back into Draft #2 of the new book – likely starting in July sometime. Generally speaking, draft #2 should take around a month to a month and a half to hammer out, depending on my schedule.
The next event isn’t happening until August 15 (Painted Wraith Fest in Bloomington). When it gets closer, I’ll post specifics.
I was able to watch the first four episodes of Ted Lasso on the plane back from London. I don’t know if I/we will continue it. I got the jist, and while it’s clever (and fun, because of the England connection that I now understand a bit better), I’m not sure it’s quite my bag. Jason Sudekis does a great job and I can see how people love the guy, but some of the other ‘characters’ on the show were a bit too off-putting to me. YMMV. (your mileage may vary)
Ok – short and to the point today. I must hunt down some Kleenex.
